Mr. Barkat Ali holds a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE), a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s degree in International Relations, and an MS in Project Management. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI.
He is currently serving as Project Manager for the BRAVE Humanitarian Response Project. Prior to this role, he worked with LASOONA in multiple capacities, including Project Manager and Project Officer infrastructures, WASH and DRR. Mr. Ali began his professional journey in 2002 as a Sub-Engineer with the Malakand Rural Development Project (MRDP). He further enhanced his engineering expertise through positions with Shaukat and Associates (Pvt.) Ltd., Kumho E&C (Middle East), and LASOONA, where he served as a WASH Engineer and Project Officer Infrastructure.
Mr. Ali possesses strong competencies in WASH, engineering cost estimation, AutoCAD, and infrastructure development. Over the course of his career, he has completed several professional trainings, including Environmental Impact Assessment from the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Disaster Waste Management, Technical Components of Camp Closure, Managing People and Projects, and DRR/CBDRM.
He also undertook an exposure visit to Nepal, where he studied engineering structures and Sloping Agriculture Land Technology (SALT) at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). In recognition of his exemplary performance, Mr. Ali received LASOONA’s Best Performance Award in (2006).
