LASOONA in collaboration with NCA celebrated World Toilet Day in GMS Bashigram- Swat with the theme:
“We Will Always Need the Toilet – Sanitation in a Changing World.”

The event brought together 150+ participants, including students, teachers, VDC members, PTC members, parents, and community representatives.

✅ Highlights of the Day:
➖ Hygiene awareness sessions
➖ Demonstrations on proper toilet maintenance
➖ Student-led cleanliness drive
➖ Roleplays and speeches on the importance of toilets
➖ Collective pledge to always use and maintain clean toilets

Teachers, students, and community leaders emphasized the critical role of safe sanitation for health and dignity, while they pledged to build a future-ready, resilient, and climate-smart sanitation culture.

With the support of German Humanitarian Assistance and @welthungerhilfe ,the @lasoonango is spearheading the "Improvement of Emergency Water Storage Facilities for Livestock" initiative in this arid region.

🐄 Our aim? To revolutionize water access for both livestock and humans through sustainable solar power solutions. 🌿☀️ In collaboration with local communities, we've installed 10 handpumps providing clean drinking water, a vital resource in these harsh conditions.

Meet Mulana Badar Muneer, a resilient resident of Village Daag, Union Council Pattan, Lower Kohistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Thanks to the Interest-Free Loan Programme (IFL) and the National Poverty Graduation Programme , his journey from financial uncertainty to stability is inspiring. ✨🤝

Mr. Muneer received assets worth PKR 58,500 through NPGP, enabling him to start a grocery shop. From a voluntary Madrasa teacher, he became a business owner, earning PKR 15,000 monthly. This support uplifted his family, previously dependent on the BISP programme. 🎉

With additional loans and #financialliteracy training, Mr. Muneer boosted his business, improving his Poverty Score Card by 32 points.

✨ Achievements:

✅Expanded family to six members.
✅Purchased 2 goats, enhancing food security.
✅Acquired essential household items worth PKR 20,000.
✅Current business investment: PKR 150,000.
✅Cash savings: PKR 200,000.
✅Supports community with PKR 200,000 credit to customers.

Degree College, Gulabad #LowerDir, where both students and teachers attended and appreciated the theater.

#ClimateChange poses a real threat, but in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, we're meeting it head-on! Our Training of Multipliers (TOMs) program has armed Lady Health Workers (LHWs) and Lady Health Supervisors (LHS) with the tools to empower vulnerable communities, especially women. 🌍🌱

Through 50 interactive sessions, these master trainers have raised awareness in their communities about the risks of climate change and its impact on health and livelihoods. With these peer-to-peer sessions, we've reached approximately 1500 women beneficiaries, ensuring that knowledge reaches those who need it most! Today, @lasoonango team with the support of Norweigian Church Aid, proudly celebrated International Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Day Shingrai Village Council with 20 amazing local women. Together, we:

🩸 Educated and empowered women on the importance of menstrual hygiene
🩸 Distributed essential MHM kits to support healthy periods

Why is this important?

In underprivileged areas like Kass Shingrai, access to menstrual hygiene products and education is often limited. This can lead to serious health issues, school absenteeism, and social stigma. By conducting these essential sessions, we aim to:

🔹 Promote Health and Hygiene: Preventing infections and promoting overall health through proper menstrual hygiene practices.
🔹 Empowerment Through Knowledge: Giving women confidence and control over their bodies by understanding their menstrual health.
🔹 Reduce Stigma and Taboos: Breaking down societal taboos and normalizing the conversation about menstruation.
🔹 Create Sustainable Impact: Equipping women with the tools and knowledge to maintain their menstrual health, creating lasting change.

Strengthening Community Resilience through Emergency Response TrainingWe are proud to share that a three-day Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) formation and capacity-building training was successfully conducted at VC Bashigram, Swat covering the villages of Kardyal, Kass, Tanghay Banda, Bashigram, and Bela.With 10 members from each village, the training empowered local communities to respond effectively during emergencies.
