Mr. Azam Khan obtained his Masters in Public Administration from Institute of Management Studies (IMS), University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He also holds postgraduate diploma in ‘Managerial Control and Management Information System’ from the Netherlands. He started his professional career in 1998 and joined Social Forestry Project Malakand/Dir as Manager Finance & Administration. After serving Social Forestry Project for two years, he joined LASOONA as Chief Executive Officer in July 2000 and since then he is working on this position.
With over 25 years of progressive management experience, Mr. Azam Khan has demonstrated ability to lead multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary professional teams; plan, implement and coordinate diverse public welfare activities including participatory rural development; small-scale entrepreneurship; education; resource conservation; relief operations; and dissemination and application of social sector policies.
As a linchpin in the organization, he has conceived and developed different programs/projects according to the organization’s mission, which were consequently funded by various donor organizations. He has extensive hands-on and diversified experience in planning, appraisal, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social sector participatory and poverty focused development work in remote and unprivileged areas of Pakistan.
Mr. Azam Khan has also experience in human resource development at strategic and operational levels, including development, implementation and coordination of human resource strategies, policies formulation, staff recruitment and selection, job evaluation, employee’s relations, and management of training functions. Besides, he has expertise in financial management, financial appraisals, budgetary forecasting, resource allocation and performance audit. He has excellent communication, report-writing skills, the ability and experience to relate to a wide range of people. During his professional career, he has attended a number of trainings, workshops and seminars on various topics and subjects both nationally and abroad. He is proficient in Urdu, English and Pashto.
