Mr. Muzaffar Uddin is a seasoned development professional with over 30 years of experience in managing and leading multi-sector projects focused on poverty alleviation, rural development, and economic empowerment. Currently, he serves on the Board of LASOONA RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION. He has held pivotal roles in esteemed organizations such as the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), BRAC, The Asia Foundation, and the Agribusiness Support Fund. Throughout his career, Mr. Muzaffar has led large teams, comprising over 1,000 professionals, and has been instrumental in designing and implementing initiatives across various sectors, including education, health, Microfinance, gender equality, and disaster risk management. His work has had a substantial impact in countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and across Central Asia, particularly in remote and rural areas. Mr. Uddin’s leadership extends to strategic planning, resource mobilization, and the development of partnerships with governments, donors, and the private sector.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Muzaffar has made significant contributions to policy and research in sustainable development, socio-economic analysis, and gender-focused initiatives. As a former Country Representative for BRAC in Pakistan and The Asia Foundation, he oversaw critical programs promoting inclusive growth, good governance, and community-driven development. He has also spearheaded efforts to support ultra-poor households through innovative poverty graduation programs in Pakistan. A staunch advocate for education and entrepreneurship, Mr. Muzaffar has developed value chains, created novel market opportunities, and empowered marginalized communities through skills training and business development programs. With advanced degrees in Program Management from Oxford and extensive international training, he continues to drive positive change.
